Poised to perform

High expectations from the Aston Martin and Red Bull alliance has translated into the AM-RB 001 hypercar. Red Bull’s chief technical officer and celebrated F1 design specialist Adrian Newey lent his expertise on this road car, focusing on underfloor aerodynamics.

In turn, Aston Martin executive vice president and chief creative officer Marek Reichman had the freedom to craft the car’s upper surfaces.

Technical specifications are unknown at time of print, but the heart has been confirmed as a naturally aspirated V12 that could allow the AM-RB 001 to hit the hallowed 1:1 power-to-weight-ratio.

Due for first deliveries in 2018, the production run of the AM-RB 001 will be between 99 and 150 road cars and 25 track-only versions, with the latter projected to perform at the level of today’s LMP1 Le Mans sports prototypes.
