Three island resorts in South-east Asia to conduct company retreats

As austerity measures ease, corporate retreats have recently been making a comeback but today’s company getaways are far more sophisticated than marshmallows around the fireside and trust exercises. Luxury resorts now offer bespoke packages to perfectly fulfil the intentions of any company trip — be it a working one to set goals for the year, a yearly staff incentive, or a retreat for senior executives.

1. Samujana

Location: Koh Samui, Thailand
Intensity of retreat: Low

Perched on a hilltop and surrounded by azure sea, sky and infinity swimming pools, Koh Samui’s Samujana is a mix of 25 luxury villas that room up to 120 guests. On site, both intimate and grand events can be organised, with the outdoor lawns and spaces accommodating up to 400 guests. Itineraries can be crafted to suit the active with Muay Thai boxing classes, sunrise yoga and pilates sessions, and a pop-up circus school; or the more leisurely with spa treatments, golf days, and day tripping by luxury speed boat to visit the beautiful islands of Ang Tong National Park. To foster team spirit, an Amazing Race-type competition kicks off the company retreat, where participants discover the scenic island and test their limits in a series of mental and physical challenges.

The best time to visit is between December – August.
