Leica M Monochrom in Singapore: Price and sample images

Leica M Monochrom Stealth Edition

Going back to black (and white) seems like the obvious choice for avid photographers

Shutterbugs, take note. Leica has released yet another gadget worthy of your collection. Where cameras are concerned, the new Leica M Monochrom Stealth Edition certainly shines.

Designed in collaboration with fashion designer Marcus Wainwright, its metal-and-leather body plus lens is almost completely murdered out, save for a few key inscriptions on the controls and lens picked out in white paint.

Well, that’s not entirely true. The paint appears white under light, but actually glows in the dark. This is something Leica says allows for greater ease of use in low light conditions, allowing for quicker aperture and lens distance settings.

It isn’t for those who like colour either, because it shoots exclusively in monochrome, just like the regular Leica M Monochrom.

Who it’s for is the photography/camera connoisseur who appreciates what Leica is tipping as the first and last word in full-frame, black-and-white photography.

It’s also for the deep of pocket, nearly double that of the non-limited M Monochrom. To be produced in a limited edition of just 125 units worldwide (of which an undisclosed number are coming to Singapore), the M Monochrom Stealth Edition is available exclusively at Leica stores priced at S$23,280.
