Christmas at The Sanchaya

  • Thinking of a getaway to while away the year’s end, preferably on an island, and with a copious amount of Champagne at hand? You don’t have to look too far: Just a 50-minute ride away, The Sanchaya has it all sorted out.

From 20 December until the end of the year, the resort has curated a series of gastronomical events that’ll set you bubbling.

To kick it off, attend a wine tasting Aroma Journey (US$89++, S$120++) at the resort’s cellar, featuring Champagne, both white and red winess, and Port. Things start getting serious, and we mean seriously fun, as the estate manager hosts an intimate wine dinner (USD170++, S$229++ per person, with a maximum of 10 guests) that is paired with a Champagne sabrage, a white wine, two mystery reds and a glass of Sauternes. If that’s not enough, a night of caviar and bubbles (USD250++, S$340++) awaits.

The night before Christmas Eve will be relaxing. Guests are treated to a sunset performance of live traditional music with complimentary Provence Rose and strawberries.

Christmas Eve will be an absolute feast as expected. For USD180++ (S$243++), enjoy Champagne cocktails and snacks at The Bar before heading over to The Dining Room for a classic Christmas dinner, featuring roast pigeon breast risotto with foie gras, goat cheese creamy sauce, as well as pan-fried lamb rack with Italian sausage and black truffle stuffing among many others.

The days that follow will feature afternoon teas, more tasting events, a four-course Champagne dinner, a six-course New Year’s Eve dinner, and even a performance by the Singapore symphony orchestra. As some of these events have limited seatings, book early to avoid disappointment.
