The exhibition opens on 4 October 2024
Whether you’re a dilettante of the arts or a judicious aesthete, you’ve probably heard of Claude Monet. After all, the 19th-century French painter has remained one of our most eminent artists, celebrated as a leading pioneer of the impressionist movement. His art, characterised by loose brush strokes, soft, luminous colours, and an emphasis on the transience of light and shadow, often captures the idyllic ephemera of nature and its vistas.
Every Monet is instantly recognisable, owing to his masterful use of colours and an almost diffused, harmonious portrayal of light that renders landscapes into moments that exist somewhere between reality and reverie.
But just like nature itself, the best way to experience Monet is by seeing his work for yourself. Beginning October 4 2024, you’ll have the chance to do just that, albeit in a more contemporary fashion. Titled Monet Inside, the exhibition will showcase over 200 of the artist’s work, through the use of visuals, original soundtracks, and immersive storytelling across the flooring and digital screens of Parkview Square.
The 360-degree immersive experience will track Monet’s journey, from his days as a caricature artist to the masterpieces he would eventually conjure. While purists may favour a more true and traditional approach to experiencing art, the exhibition producers, Groundseesaw, have had experience in putting together a digital art journey, evinced by their previous work on the Van Gogh Inside: Love, Vincent exhibition.
Tickets for Monet Inside go on sale August 23 2024.
