From 9 June, Gin Journey will organise a ‘pub crawl’ to the best cocktail bars in the city
In the blink of an eye, we’re well into June, and while a post-Champagne brunch coma threatens to hit, we’re keeping our spirits up (pun intended) with… a glass or two of gin. World Gin Day is taking place on 9 June, and Gin Journey is bringing its experience to Singapore. It’s the first time the London-based company is making its way to our shores, and Gin Boss, Leon Dalloway has specially handpicked a select few bars worth your time (and tipple).
The local edition of Gin Journey will take place on 9, 16 and 23 June from 2pm to 7pm. The aim of a Gin Journey? To uncover the best cocktail bars in the city, discover a line-up of gin brands, and enjoy potent cocktails, of course. Oh, and make a friend or two while at it.
Each Gin Journey takes you to five cocktail bars including The Proof Flat by EC Proof and Atlas, the most notable gin bar in Singapore. Accompanying you on the tour is a Gin Guardian (Dalloway, in this instance). At each bar, you’ll get to learn about gin (including Singapore’s Paper Lantern), what goes into the bar’s signature gin cocktails, and of course, nurse one while you’re at it. In between, you’ll also try five samples of gin selected by Gin Journey especially for your tour.
Of course, driving is clearly frowned upon (and extremely illegal) to and in between locations. Instead, a ‘gini-bus’ will chauffeur you to and from each location. Problem solved, now drink your way and paint the town red!
A maximum of 20 participants is allowed per Gin Journey. Tickets are priced at S$150++ each and can be purchased at Eventbrite. Each ticket also comes with a $10 discount at EC Proof.
