September is the month for culinary enthusiasts to rejoice, well at least for those in Singapore. Aside from GastroMonth 2018 across the city, foodies can also take five… and make a trip down to Resorts World Sentosa for The Great Food Festival 2018, a four-day event that convenes some of the most acclaimed chefs from Michelin-starred and celebrity-chef restaurants around the world.

The Great Food Festival 2018 is in its second run this year, and has expanded its chef portfolio with the addition of seven culinary big shots. One of them is Dylan Jones of Michelin-starred Bo.lan, who will be helming a team of other renowned chefs from Thailand such as Chef Num from Samuay & Sons and chef Khanaporn Janjirdsak from Trang Ko to serve a slew of Thai and Southeast Asian dishes. Joining them in the Star Chef Arena are two of Italy’s youngest and most sought-after culinary connoisseurs, Oliver Piras of Michelin-starred Aga Restauranta and Francesco Brutto of Michelin-starred Undicesimo Vinera, both who will work their magic on the most popular Italian staple — pasta.

New faces include Richard van Oostenbrugge and veteran Japanese chef Masayasu Yonemura of Teppan, making their debuts with savoury creations such as Foie Gras Seaweed Broth Umeboshi, Scallop with Black Truffle and Fermented Oxtail Jus and Wagyu Sirloin Shabu Shabu.

Come for the food and stay because of the booze, that’s what we hear anyway. Knock yourself out at the Diageo World Class Bar, another event highlight that features six World Class drinks concocted by Diageo World Class Bartenders. Gin aficionados can head to the Tanqueray Gin Garden while whisky enthusiasts can while their afternoon away and attend whisky and chocolate pairing sessions. Oenophiles, of course, aren’t left out of the equation. Take part in wine appreciation masterclasses at The Cellar, which will be led by Jeannie Cho Lee, award-winning author, wine critic and judge.

Those who believe that we’ve a separate stomach for desserts will find a home at Rollin’ Sweet Times. Head to the Magnum Ocean Fantasy for your ice-cream fix. The treat is served in a quirky style inspired by the ocean’s beauty — think edible pearls, silver glitter and mermaid tail, There’s also Spinning Galaxy, where you can get creative with nitrogen-based desserts together with the folks from N2 Extreme Gelato from Sydney.

If you have baking skills to flaunt, sign up for masterclasses led by celebrity bakers such as Philip Khoury, Andres Fatso and ‘Topless Baker’ Matt Adlard at The Atelier.

Tickets are priced from $30 for a one-day pass. But do yourself a favour, and purchase the Ultimate Fan Pass (from $288 per person). Valid from Friday to Sunday, you’ll enjoy a serving of all the dishes featured in Star Chef Arena, a glass of Veuve Clicquot Rich Cocktail and one complimentary RWS Invites Membership with full day parking.

Tickets go on sale from 31 August.
