It’s been more than 20 years since luxury health and wellness retreat Chiva-Som opened for business and like its guests, the Hua Hin resort was in need of a ‘new beginning’, shuttering in four phases for refurbishment, with final completion scheduled for the end of 2019. Most recently, it unveiled its gorgeous Thai Pavilion, filled with calming white and warm wooden tones.
The resort is offering guests a five-night stay in the Thai Pavilion or a range of its suites, along with a tailored programme to suit each individual’s health goals. Choose from one of 12 goals, including stress management, weight loss and relaxation, and you’ll be advised by a team of health and wellness advisors and therapists on which retreats and treatments to go for.
Many of the treatments include body therapies, facials and massages as part of the resort’s all-rounded programme. There are even daily afternoon tea sessions should you be craving a snack or two. Your timetable will include meals, consultations and treatments, and in between, you may opt to attend activities conducted by Chiva-Som throughout the day. Classes include yoga, ballast ball, aqua aerobics, metafit and gyrokinesis amongst others.
A five-day retreat may be too short to include a cheat day, but the resort has also arranged a daytime excursion to Krailart Niwate, the lone urban mangrove in Hua Hin where you can take in all that nature has to offer.
