When Patek Met Philippe
For more than 175 years, Patek Philippe has been keeping the flame of traditional Genevan watchmaking burning strong with a deep commitment to innovation.
One of its greatest admirers is the acclaimed art and horology specialist, Nicholas Foulkes. A man of discerning tastes and a proclivity for only the best things in life, Foulkes is also the author of Patek Philippe’s latest brand book, Patek Philippe: The Authorized Biography.
This 544-page tome took Foulkes five years to finish and covers Patek Philippe’s history, people and watches. He was granted exclusive interviews with several personalities, all of whom play or have played pivotal roles in the history of the company.
One such individual is the widow of famed Swiss jewellery designer, Gerald Genta. Foulkes was also shown never-before shared images and original documents from Patek Philippe’s archives. Specially commissioned photographs of important timepieces magnified to full page in size are also quite the treat for the Patek Philippe aficionado.
