Designed by Amsterdam-based studio Nicemakers, The Brecon is a dapper hotel-chalet getaway with access to winter and summertime experiences
For anyone looking for an all-inclusive luxurious hideaway this winter, The Brecon is somewhere to consider. New to the alps of Adelboden, Switzerland, where the winters are as beautiful as the summers, this high-altitude alpine stay welcomes both skiers and hikers into relaxing luxury and chalet culture, offering glamour as well as the smooth soul of the ’60s and ’70s.
Built into an original timbered hotel framework from 1914, The Brecon rekindles a familiar free spirit of the Swiss Alps. Warm hospitality and intuitive service fill the stylish 19-bedroom and four-suite hotel, and because it is all-inclusive, one can enjoy food, beverages and spa facilities without worrying about the extra costs.
Guests can also enjoy their stay in privacy and comfort. To add to the sanctuary vibe, there’s a resident-only spa boasting a sauna with a view, steam room and Art Deco outdoor heated pool, where one may enjoy the panoramic mountainous views of the Adelboden Massif. Those in need of rejuvenation from a day of outdoor pursuits can opt for an expert treatment specialising in holistic alpine herbs, and or simply kick back to a book by an open fire.
At the heart of the house is the open kitchen, staged like a home and always on the ready to keep bellies full and happy. Guests will enjoy homey cooking at its finest, be it traditional Birchermüesli for breakfast, Appenzeller dry-aged duck or homemade gnocchi with sage butter and porcini. There’s also a bar that’s eager to please, whether you are craving for a stiff cocktail or glass of natural wine.
