Through cultural workshops, guided tours, and the rich histories hidden in the walls of Ann Siang House itself, downtown Singapore awaits to be unveiled

Whilst we are still bemoaning the closing of one of our favourite conservation shop-house hotels, The New Majestic Hotel, we can’t help but be encouraged, elated even, at the arrival of a new heritage accommodation, Ann Siang House, in the vicinity. True to its name, the boutique hotel does more than just offer accommodation. It whispers of the city’s colourful past and takes guests on journeys through the most vibrant heritage neighbourhood.

Discover Downtown Singapore

The beautifully restored Ann Siang House pays further homage to Chinatown by offering monthly cultural workshops and guided tours, including a photo walk with a local photographer, who took guests around the area’s most significant spots.

This month of June sees the celebration of Duan Wu, or Dragon Boat Festival, and the hotel will be organising day trips to the annual Dragon Boat Race. There, you’d get a healthy dose of culture, sun and fun.

Dine

The 20-key hotel prides itself not only in its curated programmes, but also in its culinary endeavours. Besides resident restaurants like Blue Label Pizza & Wine with its growing queues, and Perbacco serving up authentic Italian fare, the ground floor of Ann Siang House features an Epicurean pop-up space. The food-stand spot sees a rotation of F&B purveyors both local and international.

The huge area dedicated to culinary outlets and ever-changing menu of mobile kitchens turns the hotel into a foodie paradise amongst the already gourmet shophouse-lined lanes it sits on.

A heritage stay, an ambassador for discovery, and a dining haven all at once, Ann Siang House is not a mere downtown residence, but a new lifestyle destination.

Ann Siang House is offering an opening special where room rates start from $180++ per night (usual $300++ per night).
