With a simple push, the latest innovation in writing technology by Montblanc makes refilling fountain pens a breeze

The new launch marks the 100th anniversary of the Maison’s renowned writing icon, the Meisterstück. Following a five-year development by its engineers with ease of use at the heart of the innovation, the revolutionary Traveller mechanism allows for users to draw ink into double tanks through the cone instead of the nib, breaking new ground in terms of ink capacity and refilling speed. And as its name suggests, this manoeuvre can be operated even while one is on the go.
“Montblanc has always focused on evolving the writing experience through technological ingenuity and creative vision,” remarks Laurent Decamp, the global managing director of Montblanc Watches and Writing Instruments. “Going from a turning mechanism to a push mechanism is a significant evolution; ground-breaking in the culture of writing, just as our legendary Meisterstück did a hundred years ago.”
The design of the limited centenary edition Meisterstück 149 model echoes the aesthetics of its antecedents; its coral-coloured resin and signature gold-coated fittings are reminiscent of the earliest Montblanc writing instruments. Crowned with the house’s emblem in mother-of-pearl, and coupled with an intricate engraving of the signature massif, the gold-coated cap top tells a tale of the company’s founding ideals, distinctly referencing artwork that adorns the original Meisterstück packaging.
Housed within an opulent black leather box, this limited edition set comprises everything you’d need for a sublime writing experience: a Montblanc Meisterstück Traveller Limited Edition 1924, the new ink adapter, two ink bottles (should you wish to switch between black and blue ink every now and then), cleaning tools, a cone adapter, and of course, a luxurious leather pouch to to house the pen.
