Fans of Aman will soon have yet another reason to visit Maldives
It seems Aman is set on making yet more waves in the industry. Just a month after laying the keel of its motor yacht, the group has begun work on stamping its name on yet another beloved destination: Maldives.
While an opening date is yet to be confirmed, we do have some insights into Aman’s plans for the property. Centred on the group’s signature minimalist approach, with an emphasis on harmonising with the surrounding environment, the resort will feature 52 keys and 16 branded residences. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the resort’s design and architecture will blend into the island’s natural setting, drawing from Maldivian architectural influences, with a focus on creating spaces that possess a serene opulence synonymous with Aman.
“The introduction of Aman Maldives is a significant milestone for our brand,” says Vlad Doronin, chairman and chief executive officer of Aman Group, “as we bring Aman’s ethos of timeless elegance, unparallelled service and ultimate privacy to the destination for the first time.”
As one may expect, wellness will play a major role in the resort’s concept. The expansive, 2,638 sq m spa, located on a separate island dedicated entirely to well-being, is set to provide a range of treatments and therapies, while the inclusion of the brand’s signature spa houses hints at a focus on extended stays aimed at relaxation and restoration.
The inclusion of 16 branded residences brings an additional layer to the development, offering a more permanent option for those looking to invest in the destination. Each residence, situated on its own islet, will offer considerable privacy while still providing access to the amenities of the main resort.
“Having secured a site in the most exclusive and secluded parts of the country, I’m delighted to bring Aman’s renowned lifestyle and ultra-luxury way of living to the destination,” says Vlad Doronin.
The arrival of Aman Maldives will take the brand’s presence to 21 destinations.
