Ten ultra-rare vintage watches straight from the source to whet aficionados’ appetites

Doing justice to its name, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s The Collectibles is a veritable horological treasure trove comprising vintage watches that will up the ante on any watch connoisseur’s collection.

Launched in 2023, The Collectibles is a brand-led vintage curation and retail program, whereby Jaeger-LeCoultre acquires, services, restores, and certifies a small collection of its vintage timepieces before offering to collectors for purchase.

Whether you are new to the vintage watch game, or an experienced aficionado on the hunt, The Collectibles capsule collection grants quick and direct access to some of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most sought-after timepieces, minus the second guessing with issues like provenance and after-sales guarantee if you were working with independent dealers.

But back to the new (old) watches. After two previous collections launched in Switzerland and the US, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces the third edition of The Collectible in Singapore. Comprising 10 rare models, the latest capsule collection tells the story of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s creativity and technical innovations during the so-called golden age of watchmaking the 1920s and 1970s.

The exceptional assortment spans men’s and women’s watches, as well as familiar icons and rare complications. These include a gorgeous gold Triple Calendar from 1945; a Powermatic model from 1949, which features an integrated power reserve indicator that was invented and patented by Jaeger-LeCoultre; and a ladies’ Reverso from 1934 in a steel case with a rare and eye-catching chocolate dial.

The Collectibles book devotes each chapter to the brand’s 17 most significant models and includes such essential data for collectors as the years of production, movements used, dial variations and more. Photo by Jaeger-LeCoultre

Where available, the original box and papers, as well as original strap or bracelet will be included with the timepieces. Additionally, collectors can choose a new strap to go with the style of the watch acquired. Jaeger-LeCoultre will also present The Collectibles coffee table book, which details the 17 most significant models produced by the Manufacture that are being offered under capsule collection programme, with each timepiece.

The collection will be presented, along with The Collectibles book, at the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique at Marina Bay Sands from now till 23 October 2024. The timepieces will be available to purchase through jaeger-lecoultre.com, as well as during the Singapore presentation.
