The watchmaking house’s famous openworked Tradition chronograph gets dressed in signature “Breguet Blue”
The world’s best loved colour now graces one of Breguet’s most desired watch models. Coined “Breguet Blue”, the rich blue tone—a blend of navy and lapis—accentuates the latest Tradition Chronographe Indépendant 7077 model, endowing the deeply historical watch with a touch of refined modernity.
Recognised by its openworked dial that features the time display at 12 o’clock, and Breguet’s proprietary pare-chute anti-shock mechanism and balance at the bottom, the Tradition is one of Breguet’s most distinctive offerings.
The Tradition Chronographe Indépendant 7077, as the name suggests, features a chronograph complication that helps measure time intervals. However, unlike regular chronographs, this version comes with two separate gearing systems: one for the time display, and another for the chronograph.
This mechanically complex set-up allows for individual wells of energy for the time display and chronograph—55 hours and 20 minutes, respectively. It also ensures optimum precision for, with the chronograph operating at a high 5Hz frequency.
Superlative performance aside, the Tradition Chronographe Indépendant 7077 is a thing of beauty. Its hand-wound movement’s architecturally symmetrical layout and exceptional finishing demand close examination with an eye loupe.
Meanwhile, the regal “Breguet Blue” on the time display and minute track draws your attention while enhancing legibility. The hour and minute sub-dial in gold, in particular, is a sublime demonstration of Breguet’s decorative know-how, featuring Clous de Paris pattern that has been engine-turned by hand.
It has been said that the colour blue is loved by so many all over the world for its evocation of calmness and relaxation. With the Tradition Chronographe Indépendant 7077, we can add elegance and sophistication to the list.
