Even heavy rain couldn’t put a damper on this high-spirited day of golf, gourmet, and glamour
Golfers may be used to fairways and greens, but the Laguna National Brands Golf Day at the Masters Course proved there’s so much more to love about the sport than just the game. Held on 10 January 2025, this highly anticipated event sold out in less than a week, thanks to a stellar lineup of sponsors, top-notch brand activations, and an irresistible programme that blended athleticism with indulgence. With 120 enthusiastic participants and a day filled with surprises, it was a true hole-in-one—weather be damned.
From the moment attendees checked in, it was clear this wasn’t your average day on the course. Registration came with a goodie bag worth over S$700, packed full with golf merchandise from Descente, Fila, and Adidas, plus a test-drive invite from BMW. A hearty buffet at Dusit Thani Laguna’s Greenhouse fuelled players up, readying them for the shotgun start.
Each of the 18 holes offered more than just swings and scores, thanks to brand activations by the likes of Titleist, FootJoy, and Oakley. Golfers got hands-on with cutting-edge gear, while live-station snacks like fresh coconuts, cocktail sausages, and Glenfiddich Highballs kept hunger pangs at bay. The stakes were high too, with exciting novelty prizes up for grabs, including Oakley sunglasses for the longest drive and a coveted BMW i5 eDrive40 Sedan or a S$20,000 cash prize as a hole-in-one prize.
Unfortunately, with Mother Nature intervening, a heavy downpour cut the game short. The festivities carried on indoors, where emcee Ross Sarpani’s wit and charm kept spirits high. Guests dined on a sumptuous international buffet featuring fresh oysters, tempura, and carving stations, all against the backdrop of lively DJ beats and hypnotic LED dance performances.
A surefire highlight was the sure-win lucky draw, with jaw-dropping prizes like a Titleist full bag fitting worth over S$6,000 and a luxurious staycation at Dusit Thani. And while the Neon Night Golf after-party had to be relocated indoors to The Nest, participants still enjoyed a spirited chipping session with wine and canapes.
Despite the rain, camaraderie and joy were the real winners of the day, proving that the Laguna Brands Golf Day is as much about community and celebration as it is about the game. Here’s to sunnier skies—and an even bigger swing—next year!
