valentines wine dine

This February, sweep your Valentine off their feet with a romantic dinner experience, complete with breathtaking views. Be it from the top of the world or beneath a blanket of stars, there’s a fitting ambience for every couple

Planning a date night is one thing, but curating the ultimate Valentine’s Day experience? That’s a whole different ball game. For new and budding relationships, there’s that unspoken pressure to impress, but that doesn’t mean it’s any easier for long-term lovebirds. In fact, grand gestures and special occasions should take on even greater significance as the years pass, to keep the spark alive and ensure a love affair that endures and flourishes through the test of time.

No matter if you’re looking to impress your date, or leaning towards a charming retreat to reminisce the good days with your other half, we’ve rounded up a list of wine and dine spots for every relationship dynamic. There’s intimate rooftop hideaways boasting sweeping city views, adrenaline-pumping spots to let your hair down for the night, to the most peaceful al-fresco haven where you can bask in each other’s company; all you have to do is pick one and make the reservation.

Eat, play, love: HighHouse

For one night only on 14 February, HighHouse is setting the stage for a lavish Valentine’s Day Vibe Dining experience ($488++ per couple) that comes with a six-course menu designed for romance… and more.

Kick off the evening with four seafood-forward starters—think French Amelie oysters, Hokkaido scallop tartare, and more—before moving on to your choice of entrée. Opt for the Patagonian toothfish, coated in an umami-rich brown miso butter sauce, or indulge in the decadence of a Miyazaki A5 Wagyu striploin, elevated with black winter truffles. Round off the evening on a sweet note with your sweet other half with a refreshing strawberry and citrus amazake sorbet, a perfect finish to wrap up the feasting.

The end of dinner doesn’t signal the end of the night out; after all, the night is likely still young. For once, the sweeping panoramic vistas of Singapore from the 62nd level may not be the main attraction. Instead, expected to be captivated by live performances (think dancers donning–what else–Cupid costumes), or put your love connection to the test with a engaging couples’ card game.

Robb tip: Have a reservation for 8:30pm or later? You’ll both enjoy a surprise glass of champagne, and yes, it’s on the (High)House!

Keep the sparks flying: Sol & Ora

A much-welcome alternative to escape all the city hubbub would be a quick ride over the waters to the tranquil greens of Sentosa Island, where Sol & Ora awaits atop the roof of the luxurious beachfront oasis that is The Outpost Hotel. With unparalleled views of the waves lapping the shore and twinkling lights off the Singapore Straits, surprise your other half with a dazzling show of fireworks igniting the night sky as you dine.

From 11 to 15 February, Sol & Ora presents an extended celebratory feast for couples looking to not contend with other couples for tables. Indulge in a four-course Latin-Mediterrenean dinner menu ($268++ per couple) with welcome cocktails for him and her; the specially curated courses feature tantalising seafood offerings, hearty meat dishes, and handcrafted French desserts to cap off the intimate night.

On Valentine’s Day itself, the same four-course dinner menu comes with a special addition: a rose. specially for your Valentine… although that better not be the only flower your Valentine is receiving!

Robb tip: An even better idea would be the $368++ package; what’s a single rose compared to an exquisite bottle of Moet and a beautifully arranged rose bouquet?
