Elevate with effortless make up routines: Enhance your face card in minutes

By Amos Chin 4 March, 2025

For the woman who’s always on the move, celebrity make-up artist Kat Zhang unveils a routine that’s as quick as it is transformative

Between early meetings, back-to-back plans, and precious moments of me time, modern life leaves little room for touch-ups. Your beauty routine shouldn’t just fit into your schedule, it should enhance it. Enter Kat Zhang, the make-up artist trusted by celebrities and powerhouse women who juggle it all. Zhang specialises in creating routines that are effortless, impactful, and tailored to real life.

Radiance in 15 minutes

For mornings on the go, Zhang’s Radiant Overblush Monotone routine delivers a polished, glowing look in 15 minutes. “Great make-up starts with great skin,” she emphasises. Start with Guerlain Toner to hydrate the skin, followed by JSM Essential Mool Cream Light for lightweight moisture. Add a layer of a sunscreen from SK-II for protection and luminosity.

To even out imperfections while keeping skin natural, Zhang recommends JSM Cushion Foundation or Dior Stick Foundation. For a fresh, flushed look, sweep Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush onto the apples of the cheeks and blend upward. Pair this with a tinted lip balm in a complementary shade. Use Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow to contour and define your eyelids, then finish with a mascara from Heroine Make or skip if you wear extensions. Finally, dust CT Flawless Airbrush Powder on the T-zone to control shine.

“This look is perfect for a busy day—effortless, chic, and radiant without ever looking overdone,” Zhang says.

Evening elegance made simple

When the day transitions to evening, Zhang’s Soft Matte with Sultry Elegance routine elevates the daytime look with minimal effort. Re-set the make-up with CT Flawless Airbrush Powder for a soft matte finish with a touch of glow.

For the eyes, smudge Chanel Stylo Pencil along the lash line to create a smoky, lived-in effect, adding shimmer to the inner corners for brightness. Layer on more blush to enhance dimension, then define lips with a deeper liner that complements your daytime balm. Finish with a glossy topcoat for a polished effect.

“This look isn’t about reinventing yourself,” Zhang explains. “It’s about adding drama and refinement to what’s already there. It’s easy, luxurious, and perfect for any evening affair.”
