The Ice Cube collection by Chopard melts hearts with its modern evolution of geometric elegance

By Audrey Simon 17 September, 2025

Since 1999, Chopard’s Ice Cube collection exemplifies minimalist elegance with bold, sculptural jewellery. This year’s capsule reinterprets iconic cubes through daring proportions and modular design

In popular culture, “ice” is commonly used to describe dazzling, high-value diamond jewellery that radiates brilliance and sparkle. The term stems from the gems’ clear, colourless appearance reflecting and refracting light with prismatic clarity. The Chopard Ice Cube collection captures this essence and is celebrated for its understated elegance. Since its debut in 1999, the Ice Cube collection has a legacy that continues to evolve with sophistication. This year, the collection expands on that heritage, culminating in a masterpiece designed to warm the heart: an exceptional, one-of-a-kind modular necklace crafted from articulated cube rows in a blend of ethically-sourced rose and white gold.

With nine carefully arranged rows, three of which can be removed to fit any wardrobe or occasion, this design pays homage to the stacking tradition of Ice Cube rings and bangles. The concept goes further with a sense of fluidity, scale, and presence. The necklace’s dynamic composition features two contrasting cube sizes and heights, some mirror-polished to reflect light, while others are pave-set with diamonds, crafted in alternating designs to give it a sense of motion and vitality.

To match this, bracelets along with a multifunctional pin is inspired by architectural codes where like a city skyline, the cubes can be arranged by varying heights with towers of glass and steel shimmer under shifting light. These pieces conjure the energy of a megacity at sunrise, their mirror-polished surfaces gleaming like sunlit windows. Executed with precision, this effect demands exceptional savoir-faire, as polishing uneven surfaces is a rare skill mastered by few, and even more rarely achieved in-house.

Meticulously crafted, three new bracelets are showcased in elegant three- or six-row variations, available in ethically sourced rose or white gold, partially or fully diamond-set. Complementing these is a versatile pin, designed to be worn across lapels, collars, ties, or even hairstyles, in matching metal and setting options.

The Art Deco era is respected with the Asscher cut and in this interpretation is reimagined in two striking creations. One features an iconic multi-band shape, with a remarkable 3-carat Asscher-cut diamond set diagonally across two parallel bands of 18-carat ethical white gold, encrusted with brilliant diamonds.

Mirroring this architectural design is a pair of earrings featuring 1.2-carat Asscher-cut diamond solitaires, each backed by a sleek line of 14 diamond-set cubes. The cubes can be removed on one or both sides, allowing for both asymmetrical and minimalist styling options.

In both pieces, the octagonal geometry of the central diamonds, combined with the precise construction of the surrounding cubes, underscores the signatures of the Ice Cube collection—where clean lines and structured forms evoke understated modern elegance.

The mirror-polished cubes refract the surrounding world with subtle brilliance, while delicate variations across the pieces highlight the brand’s craftsmanship. Achieving flawless finishes and intricate diamond settings on miniature surfaces remains a feat reserved for only the most skilled artisans, such as those at Chopard.

Caroline Scheufele, co-president and artistic director of Chopard, summarises the collection: “Ice Cube has always embodied purity and precision. But here, we pushed its language even further—exploring volume, movement, and expression. I wanted the pieces to feel wearable yet unexpected, like modern art for the body.”
