Your next ski trip to Hokkaido will be a lot more rewarding, with Niseko Confidential and Tepache opening soon
Ski season is upon us, and those looking forward to cutting fresh powder on the slopes of Niseko can also look forward to Niseko Confidential’s return. What could be more exciting than a night fuelled by good food and cocktails after all that skiing?
Nestled in the heart of Niseko’s Hirafu Village, Niseko Confidential is a seasonal pop-up by the award-winning Tokyo Confidential, bringing quality cocktails and a full-meal service to the table. Reopening this 13 December 2025, it will offer à la carte snacks and drinks for après ski from 3pm to 5pm and two seatings for its prix fix fine dining menus, centred around Hokkaido’s freshest. The bar will also bring back last season’s favourites, such as the Gingerbread Old Fashioned and Tokyo Banana Colada.

Carry the party on next door at Tepache, the latest concept by the same people at Tokyo Confidential. Opening 12 December 2025 for its first winter season, Tepache is home to the largest agave collection in Hokkaido, as well as the lesser known Mexican spirits. Go for the simple tequila or mezcal pour, complemented by tepache or sangrita, and level up with an expertly crafted cocktail. Highlights include the Signature Margarita, made with tequila, Cointreau, Niagara wine syrup, yuzu and lime, and Adios Mr Spalding, a mezcal-based drink made with fermented strawberry, sweet vermouth and scarlet amaro.
As for the food, expect a selection of modern Mexican dishes by Rene Baez, formerly of Chelas in Tokyo. Celebrated for his creative Cali-Mex style, the menu will range from sharing-friendly plates like Al Pastor Fries and Ceviche, to mains like Enchiladas and Tacos.
