En Equilibre by Cartier is a study in the art of balance where aesthetic meets craftsmanship

By Audrey Simon 13 November, 2025

With 113 bespoke creations unveiled and more to be revealed by Cartier, the En Equilibre collection unfolds in six chapters: Vetrata, Byzas, Cafayate, Haliade, Panthères Reflexio, and Nemorosa, each one invites a closer appreciation of Cartier’s artistry

This high jewellery collection by Cartier explores dualities that do not clash, but rather complement such as softness and structure; symmetry and asymmetry; restraint and exuberance. Its name, meaning “in balance” in English, is found in every piece, a testament to Cartier’s vision where opposing worlds are brought into one breathtaking collection.

Vetrata pays tribute to the Art Deco era, where master jewellers orchestrated 20 cut diamonds to form a radiant, symmetrical tableau, each section set apart by graphic onyx accents. The resulting geometry not only heightens visual rhythm and contrast but also challenges the Maison to achieve suppleness and comfort within this rounded form.

Byzas presents a succession of graphic motifs that highlight the cushion-cut emeralds through the interplay of curves and counter-curves. A striking sapphire pendant lends definition and contrast. A deliberate alternation of solid and open spaces in the stone settings reveals Cartier’s expertise in openwork techniques.

Cafayate is an ode to iridescence: opals and sapphires radiate warm reflections of red, orange, and yellow. On a delicate gold mesh—crafted in both yellow and rose gold—the wave of colour is continued by Umba sapphires, weaving harmony through sinuous curves that unite the gem-set elements.

Haliade is defined by waves of luminous diamonds and sapphires that envelop the central stone, with settings and links engineered to yield flexibility and comfort. Finely paved lines are intersected by transverse diamond and calibre-cut sapphire bars, creating depth and volume around the centrepiece.

Panthères Reflexio reimagines Cartier’s iconic feline in a palette of red and green, juxtaposing tourmaline beads with meticulous symmetry. Two lifelike panthers face each other, poised in mid-motion, expressed through sculptural volumes, refined outlines, and piercing emerald eyes. Their spotted coats, tipped with onyx, showcase the artistry and naturalism that define the Maison’s treasured icons.

Nemorosa, Latin for “woody” or “shady,” evokes woodland poetry with a pear-shaped emerald pendant. An emerald-cut square is cocooned in a stylized rosette of diamonds, onyx, and rock crystal. The invisible setting renders the emerald seemingly suspended, with bold onyx accents along the diamond-set chain.
