The Oscars of watchmaking did not disappoint with well-deserved wins delivered to the year’s most exceptional creations
The votes are in and the experts have spoken. At the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) 2025 awards ceremony, often equated to the Academy Awards of horology, over 90 competing timepieces were whittled down to 20 best-in-class winners. And the evening in Geneva proved to be a fitting—and fighting—finale to a year where the watch business has weathered global economic uncertainty and storms.
Arguably the most celebrated name in fine watchmaking—its founder Abraham-Louis Breguet practically wrote the rulebook for modern watchmaking back in the 18th century with his groundbreaking inventions and business acumen—Breguet returned to the podium, winning GPHG 2025’s most coveted prize: the “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, for the Classique Souscription 2025.

Released in April as the first of several creations to mark the brand’s 250th anniversarythe Classique Souscription 2025 is a single-hand timepiece that is not just aesthetically elegant and technically refined, but also tells a rich narrative of Breguet’s formative years as the company came into its own.

In fact, like the Breguet Classique Souscription 2025, several of the GPHG jury’s picks turned out to be among Robb Report Singapore’s favourites as well. These include the Récital 30 by Bovet (Men’s Complication Prize), the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon (Tourbillon Prize), and the Zenith G.F.J Calibre 135 (Chronometery Prize), which you can read about here.
Nonetheless, we would like to congratulate all the winners of the GPHG 2025—as well as the nominees—for again presenting the jury and watch lovers around the world with the happy conundrum of deliberating their feats of creativity and innovation.
