Island Shangri-La launches its one-and-only Hong Kong Suite

By Robb Report Singapore 12 December, 2025

The Hong Kong Suite is all about understated luxury, without skimping on the richness of amenities

Those looking a sky-high getaway from the bustling city, look no further than Island Shangri-La‘s one-and-only Hong Kong Suite. Launched as a key milestone in the hotel’s multi-year renovation, the suite boasts sweeping views of Central and Victoria Harbour from 50 floors above.

It’s quiet luxury at its finest. Intimate yet never indulgent, the suite serves as the definitive barometer for Asian contemporary hospitality, channelling good vibes through an airy, light-filled space with gentle nods to Hong Kong’s rich history.

“Real, understated luxury for our guests is about our connection to the place, celebrating the very best of Hong Kong’s culture and community, and nowhere is this more evident than the suite which proudly bears our city’s name,” said general manager Clifford Weiner.

The suite, infused with a sophisticated Asian aesthetic of painted fabric walls and 19th-century paintings, takes feng shui principles into account. Mirroring the view of the harbour is a full-wall textured mural depicting its past, creating a double focus on water and a layout that welcomes good fortune into the suite. Believers will also appreciate other elements like illustrations of mountains and auspicious clouds, believed to symbolise prosperity and longevity.

Beyond good fortune, the suite is generously sized at 130 square metres, offering a true urban retreat filled with all the necessities. A circular dining table, ideal for small dinner parties, is accompanied by a maxi pantry that can be customised to the guest’s preferences. Position the table to maximise the city panoramas or the 65-inch flat screen TV, and to kick things up a notch, there’s in-suite dining and a dedicated butler available around the clock.

The butler can make you your favourite cocktail, and while you’re winding the night down, draw you a bath. After all, a polished round marble bathtub, framed by hand-cut mosaics of precious magnolias, can’t go ignored. Those who are on team no-bath will enjoy the twin rain shower heads and heated bench, a great way to end the night before retiring to bed.
