BMW’s all-new M2 CS lands in Singapore, though you may have to admire it from afar

In case you missed it, the all-new BMW M2 CS is now in Singapore… or perhaps we should say, was available. BMW says all allocated units here have already found their owners

Blink and you’ll miss it, and we mean that quite literally. BMW Asia has announced that the all-new BMW M2 CS is now in Singapore, but the catch is that this CS is built in very small numbers globally, with a limited production run of only one year. It’s no surprise then that BMW says all allocated units for Singapore have already found their owners, turning this compact coupe into the sort of rarity you’re more likely to spot in a quiet carpark than a showroom.

Still, it’s worth knowing why the M2 CS inspires this kind of urgency. BMW positions the model at the sharp end of the compact high-performance sports car segment, promising outstanding agility, supreme dynamics and particularly sporty design characteristics—a very “don’t just drive it, experience it” brief. The CS badge also carries its own lineage: BMW frames the M2 CS as the latest chapter in a story that traces back through the BMW 2002 turbo, the BMW 1 Series M Coupé, and the first BMW M2, including the first CS variant unveiled in 2019.

What’s new, without drowning in numbers? The all-new M2 CS takes the second-generation M2 as its starting point, then turns the dial up—more power, a tighter sense of purpose, and a noticeable diet thanks to intelligent lightweight design. BMW highlights the use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) across multiple exterior and interior components, with forged M light-alloy wheels as standard—helping make it the lightest BMW M2 so far in the current generation.

Under the bonnet, it retains the familiar six-cylinder in-line format with M TwinPower Turbo, and sends power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic as standard. And for those keeping score, BMW lists the local retail price at $660,888 (at time of press).
