From Murano glass to crystal chandeliers and cult loafers, these are the standout stories from Salone del Mobile 2026
One of the most important events in furniture and interior design, Salone del Mobile has just concluded. Often considered the equivalent of couture week or Watches & Wonders for design, the fair centred this year on the theme “A Matter of Salone”, with a strong focus on materials. Exhibitors were invited to think of material not simply as a surface or finish, but as origin, memory and a form of cultural expression. Here are some highlights.
Baccarat
Several key novelties by Baccarat include: Mille Fleurs collection reinterprets the historic Zénith chandelier with a design that deconstructs the classic form into modular rings that can be composed horizontally or vertically. The iconic Harcourt glass appears in new Harcourt Color editions, using full-body coloured crystal such as incandescent red with 24 carat gold, deep blue, vivid green with emerald tones to emphasise the precision of Baccarat’s colouring and cutting. The Haute Cristallerie collection pushes the technical limits of crystal in form, cutting and decoration, and positions the line as bold, and graphic.
Tod’s
Tod’s “ICONS by ICONS” project celebrates the house’s emblematic Gommino loafer by reinterpreting it through four landmarks of Italian design: the futuristic Elda armchair by Joe Colombo, the expressive Crosby chair by Gaetano Pesce, the Kristall table by Michele De Lucchi for Memphis Milano, and the pure, rational Brionvega RR226 Radiofonografo by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Each work becomes the starting point for a different Gommino, conceived as a collectible object that merges design history, style and Tod’s artisanal tradition.

Dior
The Corolle lamps, created in collaboration with award-winning designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, form a range of lighting fixtures at the convergence of couture and art de vivre. These pieces echo the emblematic spirit of Christian Dior’s New Look and reinterpret the signature lines of the Corolle skirt with freshness and elegance.
Crafted from mouth-blown glass in the tradition of the master glassmakers of Murano, the bell-shaped lamps are inspired by the movement of fabric — from pleats to drapes — and take on a supple, airy look.
Swarovski
Swarovski presented a curated selection of home décor and figurines that appear in its new illustrated book, spotlighting the 50th anniversary of Swarovski’s home collection. The collection is positioned as highly collectible: nature inspired Crystal Myriads and figurines that render the natural world in exquisite detail and colour, vibrant tableware for contemporary art de la table, and decorative pieces conceived as go-to gifts for every season.
