GoPro’s Mission 1 series is said to be the world’s smallest, lightest and most rugged cinema cameras designed for any mission
GoPro, the creator of cameras that no adventure leaves behind, is upping its game. Pivoting to professional quality equipment, it now offers cinema-grade footage with the recently launched Mission 1 series of ultra-compact action cameras.
Described as the “world’s smallest, lightest, most rugged cinema cameras designed for any mission”, the Mission 1 delivers excellent 8K and 4K footage with the help of a 50M 1-inch sensor, which allows it to perform well in low-light conditions.
There are three models: the entry-level Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro and Mission 1 Pro ILS, which features a Micro Four Thirds mount for manual interchangeable lenses—a great perk for those wanting a greater cinematic workflow.
While most people will be happy with the base model, the action and pro users needing higher frame rates can easily upgrade. The Mission 1 Pro, for instance, runs at 960 frames per second for up to 10 seconds. Both the 1 Pro and 1 Pro ILS can also shoot 8K video in 16:9 format at up to 60 frames a second.
Either way, you will have a very capable and durable device in hand. Apart from the same GP3 processor and 2.59″ rear OLED display, all three models share the same waterproof design (20 metres) and enhanced thermal management.
