When Louis Vuitton unveiled La Beauté earlier this year under the creative direction of Dame Pat McGrath, it marked the maison’s long-awaited entrance into cosmetics. Now, the French luxury house is expanding the universe with what could become its next cult object: the LV Crayon.
Despite its playful name, this is no ordinary lip liner. Conceived as a new category in lip artistry, the LV Crayon distils McGrath’s backstage expertise into an elevated everyday essential, bringing the precision that has defined Louis Vuitton’s runway beauty for more than two decades into the hands of consumers.
“Every look I have ever created on the Louis Vuitton runway begins with the lip line – it is where precision becomes art,” McGrath professes. “The LV Crayon is a tool that deserves to be in the hands of every woman. It’s both seamless to use and beautiful to hold.”
True to Louis Vuitton’s design language, the liner arrives in an unprecedented monogram-shaped silhouette—a sculptural object as much as a beauty tool. The design pays homage to McGrath’s signature lip-defining technique, transforming an often-overlooked makeup staple into a collectable accessory worthy of a vanity display.
Performance, naturally, sits at the heart of the innovation. The featherlight, silky formula glides effortlessly across the lips with a creamy, melting texture that delivers crisp definition without dragging. Infused with peptides, it also works beyond colour, helping to visibly plump and enhance the contours of the lips while leaving them feeling comfortably hydrated and revitalised.
The collection spans 10 richly pigmented shades, from nudes to deep burgundies and Louis Vuitton’s signature statement reds, allowing for everything from barely-there definition to a dramatic power pout.
