Meet the Amble One, a €20,000 street-legal electric buggy

If the average golf cart isn’t quite up your alley, there’s something better coming your way. Hailing from Lisbon, Portugal, the Amble One is a stylish, street-legal electric buggy that’s as serious on the road as it is fun.

Founded by a four-person team with the likes of Audi, Apple, Ford and e-bike brand Cowboy in their portfolio (their design lead, Julian Hoenig, worked on the cancelled Apple car), it offers more than it lets on—over 100 kilometres in driving range, a top speed of 65 km/hr and charging time of five hours using a standard household outlet—all while staying under 450 kilograms.

The light weight is helped by an open, doorless design, which is very much inspired by the NASA moon buggy. On a deliberately visible electric platform, you will find a flat windscreen that reminds you of the Mercedes G-Wagon, a dashboard bar built for mounting standard bike accessories (a phone holder, for instance), and a bounty of aluminium, leather, cotton and cork.

When necessary, rear seats can fold flat. And for the sake of practicality, it will soon come with a lockable front box and canvas weatherproofing option.

The first deliveries have been slated for late 2027, with priority given to private communities and luxury hospitality destinations, such as Amangiri in Utah and Six Senses Les Bordes in the Loire Valley. The general consumer rollout can be expected to begin in 2028, with pre-orders currently open across Europe and the United States.
