The Philadelphia Eagles star puts his spin on a skeletonised tourbillon
H. Moser & Cie.’s latest timepiece is a real touchdown.
The new Pioneer was created in partnership with Saquon Barkley, widely considered one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL, who has given the luxury sports watch a very cool twist
The limited edition builds on the Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton (Ref. 3811-1200) that the Swiss watchmaker unveiled at Watches and Wonders in 2022. It is a Moser that immediately stood out to Barkley—a big fan of the open-worked aesthetic.
“I’ve always been drawn to skeleton watches,” Barkley said in a statement. “I love being able to see the complexity of the movement, while the watch itself can still feel incredibly pure and understated.”

As with the previous model, Barkley’s edition (Ref. 3811-1205) features a 42.8 mm steel case, a domed subdial at 12 o’clock, and a cylindrical tourbillon at six o’clock. The main difference is that the original’s subdial showcased Moser’s signature Funky Blue fumé coloration, whereas the successor is covered in shimmering aventurine. The quartzite looks as if it is full of stars—rather fitting, given Barkley is a star on the field, having accumulated 2,738 scrimmage yards since signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024. All the indices on the subdial are filled with Super-LumiNova, but the two and six glow in a different colour as an homage to Barkley’s number (26).
“What I particularly like about this piece is how the aventurine dial stands out against the skeletonised movement,” adds Barkley. “It catches your eye, and yet never feels ostentatious. That balance is exactly what I was looking for.”

Sapphire crystal front and back give a full view of the three-dimensional automatic movement within. The in-house Caliber HMC 811 is worth spotlighting, with a cylindrical hairspring that improves isochronism. That means the hairspring can maintain a constant, undisturbed oscillation regardless of external forces, thereby increasing accuracy.
The Pioneer Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Aventurine Saquon Barkley Edition—it’s a mouthful, we know—will be equally at home on the football field or the red carpet, offering water resistance to 120 meters. The watch is limited to just 97 pieces, as a nod to the running back’s birth year. Each one costs US$99,600.
