The 50.55m Spitfire, built on the proven platform of the Ares 150 Bold, is a superyacht with super features and abilities

Ares, one of Turkey’s fastest-growing companies, has been building military and commercial vessels since 2006. It has done work for not just the Turkish Navy, but the navies of Germany, and has even become a world leader in the development of remote, unmanned and self-guiding “kamikaze” vessels. Surely one can count on it to produce a superyacht with super abilities.

The Spitfire, inspired by the legendary Supermarine Spitfire fighter aircraft, is built on the proven platform of the Ares 150 Bold (the world’s best offshore patrol vessel of 2018), combining offshore pedigree with superyacht luxury. An optimised hull form, refined through advanced simulations and full-scale sea trials, delivers exceptional performance.

Powered by a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, one can enjoy low noise, minimal emissions and the option for electric-only cruising, or go full speed ahead at 22 knots on an extendable 2,200 nautical mile range.

Beyond its naval exterior by British firm Lateral, the inside takes on a more core industrial aesthetic, designed by the British agency Bannenberg and Rowell. Guest comfort is prioritised with informal, flexible living, with every space lean, nimble and as well-appointed as you’d expect of a superyacht. The private ‘Boss Quarters’ opens onto an exclusive owner’s deck with a jacuzzi, outdoor cinema and uninterrupted panoramas, and the wardroom, with a full-length side and retractable roof, seamlessly opens to an expansive poop deck and a grill bar, making it perfect for entertaining under the stars.
