TWG Tea’s CEO, co-founder and president, Taha Bouqdib is living the dream – he’s the head of a successful multinational company and enjoys an equally rich family life.
Bouqdib moves with a sort of languid elegance, something that’s reflected in the way he speaks, in measured tones, with a soft French/Arabic accent colouring his English.
A keen appreciator of tea (naturally), Bouqdib is also an avowed petrolhead, enjoying design, luxury, speed and comfort in equal measure.
These are traits perfectly embodied in the handsome Aston Martin Rapide S, with a large naturally aspirated V12 motor providing the thrust (552bhp, 0-100km/hr in 4.4 seconds, 327km/hr top speed), hand-built interiors providing the necessary luxe touches and a perfectly judged suspension set-up providing the comfort.
“When you mix all these factors into one car, you’re guaranteed a great experience,” declares Bouqdib.
He also professes his love for the elegance that all Aston Martins are possessed of, citing the four-door coupe’s poise and pace as standout traits. Bouqdib also likes the practicality afforded by the four doors the Aston Martin Rapide S has. No real surprise since he loves taking his wife and son for drives in scenic locales.
He says, “My favourite place in the world to drive would be the south of France, especially in summer. Great moments are meant to be shared, and I love sharing them with my family when I take them there. You get a great view from the top of the hills, and there are also winding roads everywhere.”
The four-door Aston Martin Rapide S would be a perfect accompaniment for those holidays, with easy access to the rear bucket seats a boon, particularly so when you consider his son loves sports cars as much as he does, because “all his favourite superheroes have fast cars”.
It is that love for fast cars, nice driving and his son that keeps Bouqdib moving, confessing that one of his dreams is to partake in a driving holiday with him.
“I’d love to go on a nice drive with my son one day. It’s a dream that every father has. I want to teach him how to appreciate a beautiful car (and) different roads around the world, and at the same time, tell him about the cars I love.”
