The first Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo affirms the region’s burgeoning market

If there was ever any doubt about Asia-Pacific’s rising prominence in the world of business aviation, the debut of the Business Aviation Asia Forum and Expo (BAAFEx) 2025 may just have put it to rest.

Held from 4 to 6 March at Singapore’s Changi Exhibition Centre, BAAFEx saw over 2,000 industry professionals from 56 countries gather to network, exchange ideas, and discover the latest developments shaping private aviation.

While the turnout was higher than expected, it should hardly come as a surprise. According to Aviation Week Intelligence Network, the region’s business aviation fleet is forecasted to grow at 2.1 per cent annually through 2034, comfortably ahead of the global average. The maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) market in Asia-Pacific is similarly thriving, with projected annual growth of 4.1 per cent. Even flight hours have rebounded strongly—now 41 per cent higher than pre-pandemic levels—reinforcing Asia-Pacific’s position as a significant market in global aviation.

“The consensus among exhibitors, sponsors, and trade visitors is that the inaugural show exceeded their expectations,” says Leck Chet Lam, managing director of Experia Events. “Exhibitors were impressed by the number of quality business meetings they had, resulting in sales opportunities.”

One notable exhibitor was Dassault Aviation, which showcased its Falcon 8X as a static display—an aircraft ideally suited to the rapidly expanding Asian market. Introduced into service in 2016, the Falcon 8X offers an ultra-long-range of 6,450 nautical miles, easily linking major Asian business hubs with key cities in Europe and North America. Its refined interiors, exceptionally quiet cabin—achieved through advanced acoustic insulation that reduces noise levels to below 50 decibels—and versatile three-zone configuration align seamlessly with the evolving needs of the region’s clientele.

With several exhibitors already committing to return in 2027, BAAFEx looks set to establish itself as a critical fixture on Asia’s business aviation calendar.
