Jonathan Anderson’s womenswear debut for Dior arrives alongside the launch of a new bag silhouette: the Dior Bow Bag
There was a time when dumpling bags reigned supreme. I never quite understood the obsession, yet fashion has a way of circling back on itself, and here we are, discussing a silhouette that faintly recalls that era—only this time, refined through Dior’s exacting lens. When Anderson stepped into his new role, he made clear his intent to move the house forward while remaining empathetic to Monsieur Dior’s original vision. His debut collection leaned into that balance, drawing from the founder’s historic affection for bows and rococo flourishes, while layering in his own sensibility—one defined by whimsy, wit, and a quiet challenge to convention.
The result is the Bow Bag, an accessory that feels both considered and contemporary. Introduced alongside the Cigale bag, which made an appearance during the Spring Summer 2026 show, the Bow Bag continues Dior’s exploration of sculptural femininity, translating the founder’s love of ornamental loops into a modern, architectural form. It is less overtly romantic than one might expect, favouring clean lines and restrained drama over excess.

Crafted in grained leather, the Bow Bag strikes a careful balance between softness and structure. Its bow-shaped silhouette is engineered with precision, yet softened by supple materials that lend a tactile ease. An invisible closure maintains the bag’s streamlined appearance, while a removable chain—intertwining polished metal links with delicate bow motifs—adds both functionality and visual intrigue.
Offered in small and medium sizes, the Bow Bag is rendered across a spectrum of finishes, from smooth and metallic leathers to crinkled textures and intricately embroidered versions featuring Buttercup Garden and Dior Clover motifs. The palette is equally expressive, spanning classic black, dreamy pink, tourmaline, buttercup yellow, hermitage, and latte white. Subtle branding, the iconic Dior logo at the front, adds the cherry on top.
