Landshapes marks the third partnership between Daniel Arsham and Kohler, debuting in the Arsham Cabin at Destination Kohler
Daniel Arsham’s work crosses traditional boundaries, showcased in numerous high-profile collaborations where he reimagines contemporary objects as archaeological artefacts from a dystopian future. This vision doesn’t stop at fashion and pop culture, extending to home furnishing. Here, the American artist has collaborated with Kohler; the inaugural collaboration, launched in 2021 during Design Miami, resulted in a limited-edition 3D-printed bathroom sink dubbed Rock.01.
This month, his expertise in blending digital technology and heritage craft with nature-inspired forms continues, again teaming up with Kohler for Landshapes–a collection part of a broader endeavour called Arsham in Kohler.
Prominently displayed in the Arsham Cabin at Destination Kohler, the company’s resort on the shores of Lake Michigan, the newest series integrates Arsham’s signature elements into bathroom fixtures.
This bathroom collection, taking cues from the artist’s travels, includes a hand-carved freestanding bathtub, amorphic-shaped wooden mirrors, decorative glass faucet handles, Kohler WasteLAB tiles, and ethereal lighting fixtures–turning the artist’s cabin into a literal work of art.
To conclude the newest series, set to launch commercially in late 2024, Arsham partnered with Malbon Golf to introduce a collection of merchandise dressed in his signature teal patina. This distinct finish, which also embellishes the roof of the Arsham Cabin, exemplifies the seamless integration of his unique aesthetic into functional design elements.
