From 27 September to 7 October 2024, the bottles will be auctioned by Whisky Auctioneer, with all proceeds going to charity

It’s been 26 years since Scottish actor, Ewan McGregor, first toasted the inaugural cask of Arran Single Malt. It was a gift to him by the Lochranza Distillery, and as a way to reciprocate, McGregor is auctioning off 150 exclusive bottles from this cask, with all proceeds to go to the Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), a charity dedicated to supporting kids with life-limited conditions.

From 27 September to 7 October 2024, the bottles will be auctioned by Whisky Auctioneer, the world’s leading online whisky auction platform. In the name of charity, the auction will be open to all bidders, with the seller’s commission waived and 12.5 per cent of the buyer’s commission donated to CHAS. “My hope is that this auction can raise a significant amount to ensure that these wonderful places are able to continue providing the service they do,” said McGregor in a statement.

Branded as Ewan’s Cut, each bottle has been designed to feature references to McGregor’s iconic roles in films like Trainspotting and Star Wars, with a unique label that reads like a film script. As one of Lochranza’s oldest whiskies, this ex-sherry cask-aged whisky will offer both whisky enthusiasts and fans of McGregor a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of history and contribute to a worth cause.
