Best for: The father in need of rest.

Eye bags, back aches, and weary shoulders are common complaints of any father. It’s lucky then that tulah, an innovative clinical resort in northern Kerala, has recently opened its doors. Boasting 65 suites and 14 treatment areas across 30 acres of manicured gardens, the wellness retreat offers an integrated and holistic approach to rejuvenation. Combining advanced regenerative therapies like cryotherapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy with Eastern healing practices of Ayurveda, Yoga, Vedanta, Tibetan and traditional chinese medicine, tulah looks to address a wide array of modern wellness needs.

Central to this commitment is the resort’s dedicated Sonorium, which is the world’s largest sound healing dome. More impressively, however, the flagship Kerala sanctuary is planned to be the first of a wider ecosystem that will include Urban tulah, a series of city-based clinical wellness hubs launching first in Dubai in 2026, and tulåh at Home, an at-home care programme set to bring personalised, data-led care into daily life.

Brimming with Florentine romance, the Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze will have dad swooning.

Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze

Best for: The father who appreciates a little culture.

If you’ve ever pretended to listen while dad talks your ear off about the Renaissance, 19th-century frescoes, and Dante’s The Divine Comedy, you’d know the old man has a penchant for the artistic. So, why not indulge him this father’s day with a trip to Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, a historic Florentine property that is marking the debut of Minor Hotels’ new Colbert Collection?

Once a refuge for travelling silk merchants, the centuries-old building has lived through the Renaissance and is now newly renovated into an exquisite boutique retreat. Comprising 69 guestrooms and suites, each of the hotel’s rooms has been designed to evoke the spirit of a Renaissance palazzo’s chambers. Should you wish to spoil dad further, however, opt for the Torre Monalda Signature Suite, an opulent space that is set within a surviving 13th-century medieval tower and comes with sweeping views of Florence.

And while we’re sure he’ll be happy to be left alone as he basks in the romance of it all, the hotel’s social areas, dressed with bespoke furnishings, leather textures, and warm lighting inspired by classic Florentine lanterns, are designed to encourage conversation among guests. Who knows, maybe you’d end up reminiscing the times he’d try to recite the opening lines of The Divine Comedy to you?

The Seed, Bali

Best for: The father who misses his friends.

Time is a premium, and when you need to juggle between work, family, and a whole host of other responsibilities, is there really any time left to catch up with friends? There might, then, be no better way to reconnect than on a private retreat that is designed to bring people together as they while away the day.

With four villas, eight rooms, and a suite of social places including an outdoor cinema, an underground speakeasy, and a large glistening pool, The Seed, Bali provides the perfect environment for friends and family to spend time together. The property, which must be booked in its entirety, offers a seamless and flexible escape while grounding you in the rhythms of Bali. Whether you decide to host a night-long jam session at the underground bar, ride horses on a nearby beach, hike to the oldest village in the area, or simply indulge in the unpretentious fare at the resort’s dedicated restaurant, you’ll have free rein to recharge and reconnect just the way you’d like to.

Dusit Thani Bangkok

Best for: The father who swears music (or anything for that matter) was better when he was young.

If dad believes Sean Connery is the canonical James Bond or pulls a face when a young whippersnapper asks what a David Bowie is, you may want to book him a quick flight to Thailand and put him up at Dusit Thani Bangkok.

Reopened in late 2024 after a multi-year renovation, the iconic property—first opened in 1970—carries much of its heritage into the modern era. Its signature golden spire, for example, was meticulously dismantled and preserved, before being placed within a new and larger spire that crowns the renovated building. Column fixtures, adorned with historical murals by master artist Paiboon Suwannakudt, have also been kept from the original property, along with hand-carved teakwood ceiling panels that framed the hotel’s old Benjarong Thai Restaurant.

Beyond these design elements, the property’s 1970 Bar evokes the golden age of retro glamour. Designed by renowned interior architect André Fu, the bar holds three distinct rooms; the Salon; the Library; and the Bar Boudoir. Sporting velvet armchairs and bronze flourishes throughout, the space may feel anachronistic. That said, the bar, along with the property’s historical elements, convey one thing well: the old times were good, and now, they’re well and truly back.

JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort

Best for: The father who wants nothing more than precious time with his loved ones.

They say clichés, even the corniest ones, exist for a reason. And when you’re sitting on a white, sandy beach, taking in the brilliant hues of a Maldivian sunset, even the most sardonic traveller will admit that the best things in life deserve to be shared with the people we cherish most.

This sentiment feels even more poignant when you’re walking through the JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort. Set within Kaafu Atoll’s largest natural lagoon, the teardrop-shaped island cocoons you in nature. With its tree-lined paths, dense foliage, and the island’s natural curves, you’ll find yourself naturally slowing down as you take in the resort’s leisurely ambience.

More than anything, you’ll find yourself gazing out towards the water, sky, and horizon often as every structure and space within the property appears to frame its stunning surroundings. For the best expression, however, opt for the three-bedroom, 729sqm Ocean Residence. Boasting a private spa, gym, an infinity pool, kitchen, and a sweeping upper terrace with a waterslide that plunges into the sea, the residence will have you and the family enjoying the spectacular views of the ocean, while dad simply enjoys having you there.
