Ghost is the brainchild of Foiler, a newcomer equipped with computer-controlled hydrofoils
There was a sort of otherworldly presence at this year’s Abu Dhabi International Boat Show: a 92-foot yacht concept called Ghost that mysteriously “flies” around like friendly ol’ Casper.
The brainchild of Foiler, the newcomer is equipped with computer-controlled hydrofoils that lift it up and out of the water when travelling at speed to reduce drag and increase velocity. It is one of two foiling yachts designed by Foiler, with fellow UAE-based brand Enata once again taking care of the build.
Developed in collaboration with Bozca Design, Ghost features a carbon fibre and titanium exterior that is lightweight yet incredibly strong. The vessel is futuristic yet timeless, with long, flowing lines and a sculpted, aerodynamic silhouette. It will be equipped with Enata’s proprietary foiling system—the same one that appeared on 32-foot predecessor Spirit, but with a few refinements. The setup will allow Ghost to “fly” approximately six feet above the water at a cruising speed of 30-35 knots and a top speed exceeding 40 knots, according to Foiler.
“Foiling transforms the experience of yachting,” Enata Group CEO Alois Vieujot said in a statement. “At 40 knots, passengers can move freely, speak in hushed tones, and enjoy a completely smooth, stable ride, something unimaginable on a conventional yacht.”
With a total interior living area of nearly 139 square metres (excluding cabins) and 52 square metres of exterior deck space, Ghost offers more real estate than many similar-sized competitors, Foiler says. The open-plan layout includes three to five cabins, a generous full-beam salon, and a beach club aft. The interior showcases contemporary minimalist decor, premium materials, and floor-to-ceiling glazing that welcomes natural light in while offering sweeping ocean views out.
“Ghost is not just a foiling yacht but a high-performance platform shaped by architecture, precision engineering, and a philosophy of purposeful design,” adds head of Bozca Design Timur Bozca.
Ghost will be a breeze to operate, too, with Foiler’s signature plush seats, intuitive joystick controls, and other cleverly integrated systems. The yacht is also fitted with a hidden crane that can be used to launch a Jet Ski or tender, then tucked away so as not to detract from the sleek exterior.
Ghost is a serial-production, semi-customisable yacht, meaning owners can put their stamp on it. Construction on the first hull is expected to begin within the next 12 to 18 months, with launch scheduled for 2029.
