The car company has teamed up with N+ on the electric rides

You can already get an all-electric version of Ford’s Mustang, thanks to the Mustang Mach-E. Now you can snag an electric-bike iteration of the iconic sports car, too.

Ford has teamed up with the e-bike company N+ on two new bikes inspired by the Mustang and the Bronco, with deliveries expected later this year. While neither ride is able to match the power and performance of a full-size vehicle, they’re sporty bikes with features that pay homage to their Ford predecessors.

“We know the passion and thrill that gets unlocked when people get behind the wheel of a Bronco and Mustang,” Tyler Hill, Ford’s global brand licensing manager, said in a statement. “These new eBikes will allow more people to experience the adventurous spirit of a Bronco and the exhilaration of a Mustang from the moment they grip the handlebars.”

Both bikes feature a 750-watt hub-mounted motor that churns out 85 Newton-metres of torque. Over a range of about 97 kilometres, you’ll be able to hit a top speed of 45 km/hr, and the battery can recharge in just three and a half hours. Along with the power, both the Bronco and the Mustang bikes come with four-piston hydraulic brakes and a full-colour LCD panel that will show you the vehicle’s speed, range, and battery life.

As for the differences between the two, the Bronco has been designed with what Ford is calling a GOAT (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) dual suspension system and a motorcycle-inspired seat. The standard Area 51 color option will cost US$4,500, or you can upgrade to one of 10 additional colors for an extra US$390. The Mustang bike, meanwhile, is being offered in Carbonised Gray Metallic for US$4,000, with color upgrades for US$390 as well. A special limited-edition 60th Anniversary Edition is also being made available exclusively at Ford dealers.

This isn’t the first time a marque has ventured into the world of electric bikes: Earlier this year, McLaren debuted the most powerful street-legal e-bikes on the planet. Lotus similarly released an electric bike last year, and Rivian announcedthat it was also developing a version of the electric ride. Prior to all of those, GMC worked with the e-bike company Recon on a ride inspired by the Hummer EV.
