The new Grand Seiko boutique exclusives exude depth and detail

By Haziq Yusof 16 June, 2026

From the  understated SBGY043 to the technically ambitious SLGB006, the new Grand Seiko boutique exclusives embody the best of the Japanese manufacture’s design philosophy

There’s never a bad time to add to your watch collection. But June, with its halfway mark on the calendar, Father’s Day celebrations, and school holidays in full swing, offers more than a few excuses to indulge. If you (for whatever reason) needed a little extra push, Grand Seiko has just sweetened the proposition with the launch of two boutique-exclusive timepieces at Marina Bay Sands.

Offering new expressions of Grand Seiko’s nature-inspired dials, the two timepieces—the SBGY043 and SLGB006—articulate the brand’s technical ingenuity and signature subdued styling. While the former exudes a natural elegance through a slim manually wound Spring Drive dress watch, the latter showcases the brand’s cutting-edge precision and houses Grand Seiko’s Ultra Fine Accuracy movement in a striking yellow gold case.

Dress watch fans will find a new timepiece to fawn over in the SBGY043. The latest addition to the Elegance Collection, the watch distils much of what enthusiasts have come to appreciate about Grand Seiko. Housed in the brand’s 38.5mm “Thin Dress” case, the timepiece sports a textured blue dial inspired by iwao, the Japanese word for rock, with a hand-hewn appearance that evokes natural stone formations. Its deep katsuiro hue—once favoured by samurai and associated with good fortune—adds both visual and metaphorical depth, inviting collectors to take a closer look.

With a surface that almost appears as though a bottle of blue sheen ink had been meticulously brushed across it, paired with the softly rounded case and flowing curves, the SBGY043 manages to be both diminutive and visually arresting. While you’d expect a leather strap to complete the composition, Grand Seiko has opted for a seven-link stainless steel bracelet that imbues the watch with a more everyday appeal. Powered by the manually wound Spring Drive Calibre 9R31, the three-hand SBGY043 offers a 72-hour power reserve.

At the other end of the spectrum sits the SLGB006. Part of the brand’s ever-popular Evolution 9 Collection, the 37mm limited edition is rendered in 18K yellow gold and is powered by the Spring Drive U.F.A. Calibre 9RB2—the brand’s most accurate movement to date, boasting an astonishing ±20 seconds of accuracy per year.

Beyond its technical credentials, the timepiece packs serious visual punch. Building on the “Ice Forest” dial first seen on the original U.F.A. references—the platinum SLGB001 and titanium SLGB003—the SLGB006 reimagines the motif with dramatic effect. Here, the familiar frost-covered landscape is transformed into a moody, near-monochromatic canvas, where a jet-black surface is punctuated with delicate gold flecks inspired by the sun pillars that appear above the frozen forests of Shinshu on winter mornings.

The warm shimmer of these suspended specks contrasts against the dark backdrop, creating a striking sense of depth. Couple this with the 18K yellow gold case and you have a timepiece that, despite its restrained 37mm dimensions, isn’t afraid to make a statement on the wrist. Limited to just 80 pieces, the timepiece offers a 72-hour power reserve and, taken together with the SBGY043, makes a compelling addition to the Japanese manufacture’s growing catalogue.
