Arguably the world’s most storied watchmaking company, Swiss luxury marque Breguet has announced the appointment of Gregory Kissling as its new CEO.

Trained as a microtechnology engineer with a master’s in luxury management, Kissling cut his teeth at Cartier as a movement designer before joining Omega, where he took on various leadership roles in product development and brand management. Notable releases that Kissling oversaw at Omega included the revival of the brand’s iconic Caliber 321, and the introduction of the popular Speedmaster Snoopy and Chrono Chime watches.

Over at Breguet, the shadow of Abraham-Louis Breguet looms large. The 18th century watchmaker is considered to be the most important inventor in watchmaking history, having created numerous game-changing innovations that sparked the evolution of modern horology, such as mechanisms to power automatic watches and complications like the tourbillon.

Given its legacy, Breguet’s potential is perceived to be limitless among discerning watch aficionados. Amid an increasing competitive environment, Kissingling’s rich technical know-how and deep understanding of the luxury watch market will be invaluable as he helms the illustrious watchmaking house.
