Hermès unveils the radiant Arceau Petite Lune

By Haziq Yusof 14 February, 2025

The Hermès Arceau Petite Lune is yet another eye-catching addition to the maison’s collection

Hermès made quite an impression on watch enthusiasts last year. With the release of a handful of eye-catching timepieces that included the maison’s charming new Cut collection, the brand managed to make some noteworthy additions to its ever-growing catalogue of sophisticated timepieces.

New year, same Hermès, it seems. The brand’s latest release, the 38mm Hermès Arceau Petite Lune, is a diamond-studded gem packed with serious visual allure. Sporting the brand’s equestrian-inspired Arceau case—a now iconic asymmetrical silhouette that has been the maison’s primary choice for its metier d’art watches—the timepiece is adorned with a sparkling crescent-shaped ensemble of 99 diamonds set on the left side of its bezel.

Complementing this display is another crescent-shaped arrangement of 15 diamonds placed near the centre of the dial. Unlike the saturated, midnight-blue dial of the brand’s Petite Lune Ciel Étoilé from last year, however, this year’s iteration sports a subtler gradient blue-lacquer dial. At the centre of this dial is a deep, dark blue disc that, when paired with the crescent-shaped arrangement of diamonds, provides the impression of an eclipse in motion.

Adding to this effect is the subtle, almost vignette-like darkened areas around the rim of the dial that mimics the lighting patterns of a radial light. Openworked leaf-shaped hands and a moon-phase aperture near the 10 o’clock complete the lunar-themed motif.

Turn the watch around, and you’ll see the maison’s H1837 movement that’s decorated with circular-grained and snailed finishing, as well as the brand’s ‘H’ motif adorning its bridges and oscillating weight. Boasting a 42-hour power reserve, the timepiece is further embellished with a diamond-set crown.
