Hublot introduces Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black Pavé

By Alvin Wong 13 January, 2025

The luxury watch brand and legendary tattoo studio unveil their latest collaboration—a stunning limited edition timepiece draped with black diamonds

You know what they say: you cannot go wrong with black. The sheen that suggests temptation, the hue of rock and roll… and now the shade that sheathes Hublot’s latest collaborative watch with the famed tattoo studio, Sang Bleu.

Hublot and Sang Bleu have made over a dozen watches together since their first tie-up in 2016. And it is clear why the two have repeatedly returned to the table for more. Iconoclasts in their own right, Hublot and Sang Bleu are known for pushing the envelope their respective fields—the watch brand with its penchant for material experimentation and technical ostentation; and the tattoo studio for its unique take on the art form distinguished by measured geometric precision.

The new Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black Pavé, which is limited to 200 pieces, adds to the collection of Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu watches from 2023. The tonneau-shaped black ceramic case and sapphire crystal bear facetted surfaces, which are a design signature of the series. The angular shapes and lines are echoed on the skeletonised chronograph movement, flaunting openworked components that are chiselled, bevelled and faceted into hexagons, diamonds and triangles that add a mesmerising architectural quality to the watch’s engine room.

Certainly, it is the addition of 180 black diamonds set on the case and bezel that really ups the ante of the watch. Sparkling with a sheen that is both sensual and enigmatic, the black gemstones imbue the watch with seductive luxury; the rock ‘n’ roll royalty equivalent of high-end timepiece, if you will.

“The Hublot x Sang Bleu creations are the ink of time, carving my artistic vision in a new dimension: time permanently engraved into the geometry of watches,” says Maxime Plescia-Buchi, founder of Sang Bleu. “The black-diamond tattoo adorning the Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black Pavé adds depth to my sharp lines and intricate shapes, reinforcing the three-dimensional design of this tonneau-shaped watch and making it truly unique.”
