The Swiss watchmaker’s new pop-up brings its Portugieser Chronograph customisation service to Singapore for the very first time
Singapore’s watch crowd hardly needs an excuse to swing by Ion Orchard, but IWC Schaffhausen has just given them another. From now till 31 October 2025, the brand has set up a pop-up boutique at the mall’s Level 1 Atrium that brings its ingenious spirit to life.
Those who drop by will find more than just displays of the brand’s latest collections. The real draw, available for the first time in Singapore, is the maison’s individualisation service for the Portugieser Chronograph. A beloved cornerstone of the brand’s line-up, the Portugieser Chronograph has long charmed collectors with its clean Arabic numerals, feuille hands, and perfectly balanced subdials. Now, through the individualisation service—first introduced in 2023 at the brand’s flagship Dubai and Shanghai boutiques—ardent fans can mix and match several of the watch’s key design elements to build a version that best embodies their sensibilities.

This customisation process is anchored around a console-style display where different case materials, dial colours and straps can be tried out directly on the wrist. Using an ingenious magnetic system that attaches the dial plaques to cases, the service makes it easy to experiment with various subtle choices that transform the look of the iconic timepiece. Once you’ve chosen a final combination, the personalised Portugieser will be crafted by the brand’s watchmakers before being delivered to you after a short lead time.

Of course, if you’re simply keen to browse, the pop-up also brings together IWC’s current collections, including the Pilot’s Watches, Portofino, Aquatimer, and the latest Ingenieurs that dazzled collectors at Watches & Wonders 2025.

While the pop-up is a Singapore-only initiative, the brand may still have something to tempt those far from our shores. Through its recently introduced IWC. Curated. programme, IWC is offering a slew of vintage and historical watches, carefully selected by the IWC Museum and restored in Schaffhausen, for purchase. Available in selected boutiques in Switzerland, London, Dubai and Tokyo, the programme will see several notable pieces from the brand’s past come to the fore, including the Ingenieur SL Ref. 1832, the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph from 1985, and the Navigator’s Wristwatch Mark 11.
