It’s more than two decades since a new hotel opened on Kowloon waterfront and Kerry Hotel Hong Kong looks set to draw in the crowds with its cool blend of nostalgia and innovation.
Renowned Hong Kong architect and interior designer Andre Fu is behind the 16-storey ‘urban resort’ on Hung Hom Bay. A multi-level podium with elevated outdoor landscaping makes the most of the fabulous vista and most guestrooms enjoy panoramic views. Indoors, 1,000-plus artworks are a further feast for the eyes and soul.
Indoor and al fresco dining are available in all five restaurants and bars, from Hong Kong comfort food with tea and cocktails to modern Chinese fare dished up in a setting that reflects the area’s industrial shipyard history. International cuisine can be found at the all-day restaurant and a food market hall. A sundowner? It has to be Red Sugar bar with its 270-degree harbour views.
Yes, there’s a pool, spa and fitness equipment – but that’s just the beginning. Kerry Sports Base Camp organises sporting adventures from running clubs, boating and hiking. And for an event with some buzz, the hotel has the city’s largest LED wall. How’s that for cool?
