As the 21st addition to the brand’s collection, The Lake Como Edition creates an inclusive luxury experience from the lake’s western coast
When it comes to the world’s dreamiest destinations, Lake Como is right up there. With its turquoise waters, towering mountains, and charming towns, Italy’s deepest lake has built a reputation as the epitome of the good life.
Equally dedicated to living the good life is Edition. Together with the Omnam Investment Group and private investment firm Bain Capital, Marriott’s brand of luxury boutique hotels is making its debut in March 2026 on Italy’s most iconic shoreline.

As the 21st addition to the brand’s collection, which spans the world from Singapore to Tokyo and New York to Riviera Maya, The Lake Como Edition creates an inclusive luxury experience from the lake’s western coast in the town of Cadenabbia. Facing the stunning promontory of Bellagio across sparkling waters, it brings new life to a 19th-century palazzo, retaining its original exterior palate of cream, butter and clay, and the high vaulting of its interior lobby. The interior, envisioned by Edition creative directors, Kirstin Bailey and Paul Haslhofer, and design studio Neri&Hu, includes contemporary updates like marble-faced archways, terrazzo floors and floor-to-ceiling glass walls that reveal gorgeous views of the lake.

The hotel offers 148 rooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses, designed with custom walnut furnishings, hand-tufted rugs inspired by the lake, and Calcutta marble detailings. Lakeside rooms also feature the original restored French balconies. Beyond the rooms, guests can enjoy its generous communal spaces, such as the large jardin d’hiver terrace, “floating” pool and the palatial Lobby Bar, which showcases a five-metre-high ceiling, a Steinway baby grand and carved Palomba stone fireplace. Cetino, the signature restaurant led by Michelin-starred Mauro Colagreco, will satiate its guests with seasonal, sustainable ingredients, while those who prefer family-style dining can kick back to a meal at Renzo, the all-day terrace eatery.
“The Lake Como Edition represents a new chapter for this iconic destination, bridging the majesty of its historic setting with the vibrancy of current culture,” says general manager Anton Moore. “We’ve created a retreat that honours Lake Como’s legacy while introducing fresh energy through innovative dining, pioneering wellness experiences and spaces designed for both [a] tranquil escape and dynamic social connection.”
