Tod’s Group welcomes Matteo Tamburini as creative director, taking the reigns of the men’s and women’s collection

Back in July, Walter Chiapponi bid adieu to Tod’s, culminating with the dazzling display of his final hurrah: the Spring/Summer 2024 women’s collection presented in September. The fashion world buzzed with anticipation, speculating about the next visionary to steer the course of both men’s and women’s collections.

Finally, the veil of suspense lifted yesterday as the Maison announced Matteo Tamburini as Chiapponi’s successor.

In a press statement, Tamburini expressed his honour and excitement to join the Tod’s family, citing the brand’s profound connection to his roots and memories. “I identify myself with the brand’s values and the continuous pursuit of high quality and style it has undertaken until now, and I look forward to contributing with my expertise.”

Boasting extensive experience, Tamburini has navigated the realms of fashion since the early 2000s, most recently spearheading Bottega Veneta’s ready-to-wear collections. His finesse in luxury fashion and knack for ready-to-wear designs promise a seamless continuation of Tod’s heritage.

“Matteo Tamburini is a talented creative. His modern vision of high quality and Italian lifestyle will definitely bring an added value to our brand,” professes Diego Della Valle, president and CEO of Tod’s Group. “Tamburini will develop a creative team of highly skilled people with an in-depth understanding of the luxury world,”

Mark your calendars for February 2024, as Tamburini prepares to unveil his artistic prowess at Milan’s next fashion week. The stage is set for his grand debut, where Tod’s Autumn/Winter 2024/25 women’s collection will take centre stage, marking the onset of a new chapter for the Maison.
