The Museum of Modern Art and Hyundai Card bring the first MoMA Bookstore to Seoul

The MoMA Bookstore is a must-visit for those seeking to experience art in different ways

Not that Singaporeans need more reason to visit Seoul, but the recent opening of the MoMA Bookstore just turned its appeal up a notch. Extending a two-decade partnership between The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Hyundai Card, the Hyundai Motor Company-owned credit card issuer, the store will be the museum’s first dedicated bookstore, going beyond the book sections available at its Design Stores.

Located in the Dosan Park neighbourhood, alongside other Hyundai Card-branded spaces like the golf driving range Iron & Wood and brandy bar Red11, the MoMA Bookstore is a must-visit for those seeking to experience art in different ways. Enter its elongated interior and to the left, you’d find a boldly golden retail chamber brimming with design objects and the museum’s cult merchandise. To the right, a sleek white library presents a wide assortment of MoMA-published titles and books on art, design and architecture, inspired by the museum’s collection.

This launch follows The Hyundai Card MoMA Digital Wall (2025), a space for digital works and emerging technologies by contemporary artists, set up at Hyundai Card’s headquarters to mirror the same installation at MoMA in New York; and The Hyundai Card Curatorial Exchange Programme (2024), inaugurated to cultivate a cross-cultural relationship between Korean and American art communities.
