Greatest Show on Earth
If you plan to catch Hugh Jackman’s latest flick, The Greatest Showman, this weekend, keep a lookout for a cameo appearance by Montblanc. The luxury goods maker has not one but two product placements in this holiday circus musical: a pen and a pocket watch.
Jackman, of course, is a Montblanc ambassador, a role he’s played since 2014. You can watch him flog the brand in the above trailer. There’s also a shorter version, which you can view here.
The watch, in particular, plays a key role in the movie. It’s an actual heritage piece – circa the 19th century – from Montblanc’s Villeret Museum in Switzerland. Fitting, since the movie chronicles the life of American entrepreneur P.T. Barnum, who founded the circus in the 19th century with his legendary “Greatest Show on Earth”.
The pen, meanwhile, is a specially commissioned Meisterstuck with a ringmaster engraved on its nib.
Unfortunately, you can’t buy the pen, but if you’re really keen on a keepsake, there’s a notebook on offer. Clad in a yellow Saffiano calfskin cover, it features a peppy circus print.
