Raise a toast to our Little Red Dot by dining with a view or enjoying a limited-time local inspired treat; these five National Day specials are worth adding to your August itinerary

National Day is as good an excuse as any to get out and celebrate. From skyline cocktails and complimentary dining to front-row view of the fireworks and celebrations, these venues are marking Singapore’s 61st birthday with experiences that go beyond the usual red-and-white festivities.

Nutmeg & Clove

Few bars wear their Singaporean identity quite as proudly as Nutmeg & Clove, so it’s only fitting that National Day is marked with a tribute to two local icons. For one day only on 9 August, order the Alamak! cocktail, a playful reinterpretation of the Singapore Sling with tropical notes of passionfruit, soursop and pomegranate—and you’ll receive a complimentary Chilli Crab Bun, while stocks last.

At the Singapore Flyer, National Day is set to become a month-long affair. Beyond the return of its Street Eats Under the Stars night market and a live National Day Parade screening, Singaporeans and PRs can enjoy SG61 promotions—including two Flyer tickets for $61—while diners at 165 Sky Dining receive a complimentary Singapore Sling or mocktail with their meal throughout August.

Nova

As Nova puts it, home looks different from 63 storeys up. This National Day, Nova is pairing panoramic views of the city skyline with local-inspired cocktails and dining, plus front-row seats to the state flag flypast. The evening also comes with a playful twist: spot six of Singapore’s iconic landmarks from the rooftop to score a complimentary drink, while the sharpest eyes could walk away with a bottle of Belvedere Organic Vodka Singapore Edition. Guests dressed in red or white also enjoy free entry all night.

Bar Kap

There’s perhaps no better place to celebrate Singapore than within one of its national monuments. At Bar Kap, tucked inside the beautifully restored 140-year-old House of Tan Yeok Nee, cocktails tell the story of the landmark’s past. Start with the Pepper Peddler, a refreshing highball inspired by Singapore’s historic spice trade, and pair it with heritage-inspired bar bites for an evening steeped in local history. Slots are limited; reserve a table here.

Sushisamba

On 8 August, swap the usual National Day picnic for a sky-high feast at Sushisamba’s National Day Copacabana Brunch. The one-day affair gives the restaurant’s Japanese-Brazilian-Peruvian cuisine a distinctly local spin, with dishes such as roasted whole chicken with Hainanese rice, crab leg seviche and Samba rojak, alongside National Day-inspired cocktails including the Lion City Fizz and Straits Spice Negroni. Live entertainment and a red-and-white dress code complete the festive atmosphere. Book a table here.
