Small, stylish and highly functional, the Ottagono Wellness Gym, which just made its debut at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc, is an inspiration for all compact home gyms.
Created by Italian architect Giulia Foscari in partnership with Cassina Custom Interiors and Technogym, the 1.9-metre-tall octagonal cabinet is a room within a room, taking up less than one square metre of real estate. It is, in Foscari’s words, a “synthesis of furniture and light”, complete with a system that transforms it into an uplight lamp and a series of recessed LEDs that crowns the 1.9-metre-tall column. When in use, the interior can be brightened with dimmable and remote-controlled lights.
Beyond its hand-lacquered exterior, the Ottagono Wellness Gym reveals all the essentials required for a complete training session. Its shelves and hooks are filled with Technogym classics, such as kettlebells, resistance bands, mobility sticks, foam rollers and a jump rope. One may also find the brand’s Connected Dumbbells, a space-saving set of smart, adjustable dumbbells, a full mirror on one door and at the centre, an integrated screen to guide you through Technogym’s virtual technologies.
